Club Fitting FAQ’s

Q: What is a club fitting?

In short, club fitting is the process of determining which golf club allows a player to Optimize his or her performance on the course. A Professional club fitting considers all design characteristics of a club (length, lie, loft, weight, swing weight, shaft material, shaft flex, CG, and more)

Q: Why is club fitting important?

A: Having clubs that properly fit your swing can help correct a flaw or poor ball flight without changing your swing. Playing with the right clubs will have an immediate and profound impact on your scoring ability.

Q: Are custom fit clubs more expensive?

A: Not really. Most custom fit clubs are the same price as the “off the rack” versions.  In some case, an upcharge may be required for exotic shafts or grips. We price match on all current models.

Q: How experienced are Woodside’s club fitters?

A:  Our PGA of Canada Class “A” Professionals are very experienced. They have taken multiple courses and training seminars to ensure that they can provide the most accurate club fit possible. They have been officially certified by the club manufacturers themselves and successfully fit hundreds of clients.

Q: Should I bring my own golf clubs?

A: You certainly can bring your own golf clubs if you would like to compare what you currently own to some of the newer clubs on the market.  However, you do not need to bring golf clubs to get custom fit.  We have demo clubs on hand for you to test.

Q: How long does a custom fitting session last?

A: It really varies based on what you are looking for. If you are getting fit for a full set of clubs including irons, driver, woods, and putter, you will want to block off at least an hour.  A driver-only session will probably take 30 minutes.

Q: I just started golfing; do I have to be good at golf to get custom fit?

A:  Absolutely not!  Golfers of all skill levels can benefit from custom fit golf clubs.  From making sure you have clubs that are the right length to finding the right loft, lie and grip size, custom fit clubs can help golfers of every skill level play better and have more fun on the course.

Q: What brands does Woodside Golf Club custom fit for?

A: We are proud to carry golf equipment from all the top brands in golf and have demos on hand for everything we carry.  Callaway, Cleveland, Ping, TaylorMade, Titleist, and Tour Edge are just some of the brands that we custom fit golf clubs for.

 Q: Can I trade in my old golf clubs for new custom fit clubs?

A: Most likely.  We do take trade-in clubs and base our trade-in values on the PGA Value Guide.  While we can offer you something for most clubs – very old clubs, clubs that are damaged or sets that are missing clubs may not be eligible for trade.  Trade values and acceptance are at the discretion of Professional staff.

Q: If I order custom clubs, how long does it take to receive them?

A: It can vary by brand but in general your custom golf clubs will arrive in 10-14 days after we order them.

Q: Do I have to pay for custom clubs up front?

A: No, we just require a valid credit card to process the order. You can pay for the clubs when they arrive.
